Homeloved Mama

I am a Mom of two, who homeschools, crafts, bakes, and loves God. This is where I can share my love of being a stay-at-home Mom with all of you.

My name is Jessi, and this is my very first blog entry! It is so exciting to be starting this journey! I just wanted to share a few things about myself with all of you.

Decorating my daughter’s 6th birthday cake!

About Me

I am a wife to a wonderful and supporting husband, and a mother to two beautiful children. We have a 6-yearold daughter, and a 1-yearold son. There is also, a 1-yearold chocolate lab, named Brownie, who mostly just loves me, because I take care of him all day. His true love and best friend, is my husband. This little family of mine is my inspiration on a daily basis. They truly are some of the best gifts, I have received from God.

I grew up in Wyoming with my loving Mom and Dad, and my amazing brother. After high school, and one year of college, I moved out to Washington State in 2012 to pursue a degree in Interior Design. I met my husband, pretty quickly after getting settled in. The church that I had always known was the Wesleyan church, so I got on the internet and tracked one down. I saw my husband up on stage playing guitar the very first day I walked into that church. Little did I know at the time, God had plans for us.

How I Became a Stay-at-home Mom

College was amazing! I loved every bit of Interior Design, and I was so excited to venture out into the world and do it every day. My husband and I got married in 2015, and had our first little one in 2017. Life was very expensive, so my husband decided he wanted to go full time Army. I supported this, but I also felt like I needed to stay home for the sake of our daughter. He was going to be gone a lot, and we felt that our daughter deserved to have at least one parent home all the time. This worked out, because daycare was basically going to be my entire paycheck. After almost 6 years of designing, I became a stay-at-home mom.

Homeschooling

When our daughter turned 3-yearsold, I decided to start homeschooling her. Public school in the state of Washington sounded more and more terrifying each year that we looked into it. We decided this was the best route for our children. There have been a lot of ups and downs homeschooling, but my daughter and I absolutely love it. I get the joy of watching her learn something new every day and fall more and more in love with God, and she gets to be a kid and have fun most of the day. It can be a lot, but it is totally worth it.

My daughter learning all about the color wheel and how colors change when they mix.

Crafting

If I am not homeschooling, or taking care of the house, you can find me in my craft room. When I say craft room, it generally means wherever the children are. During the day it would be the dining table or the kitchen counter, and in the evenings, it is the actual craft room. Crafting is my favorite thing to do, and I learned a good chunk of it from my parents. My mother loved to sew, bake, and paint. My father loves to do woodwork and do photography. I dabble in just about everything. If I haven’t done it, I am always up for trying it. Some of the things I love most are anything Cricut, wood burning, crocheting, cake decorating, baking, and a little bit of sewing. The world of crafting is a wonderful place to be!

My most recent craft! These mugs were made with the Cricut Mug Press for my husband’s D&D group.

Why I Want to Blog

What I want to be able to do with this blog, is to just share what I do on a daily basis as a mom, homeschooler, crafter, and a Christian. For the homeschool moms out there, I want to be able to share that some days are amazing, and other days are just the hardest days ever. I also want to share ideas with you that are helpful to me as a stay-at-home mom. If I am doing a craft that day, I would love to add an entry about what I am working on. It could give you other crafters some fun ideas, or you could help me with some ideas too! Mostly, I just want to share how wonderful it is to do all of this with God in your heart. He truly helps me through every day, and I see him in everything I do and every little thing my children do.

I hope you will join me on this journey called life! I look forward to it, and I am so excited to get started!

It will be fun to see your crafts and hopefully if I need advice on how to do a project I can get help since we are neighbors!😊 I wish you the best with your blog!

Thank you so much! Even if you aren’t in that phase of life anymore, you can still do crafts with the grandkids!

I’m very excited for you and to follow your blog! Like you, my husband and I decided right away that our children came first and were more important than a two income family with lots of stuff. God has blessed us in soooo many ways! I have a teaching degree and have put it to use homeschooling our older children when they were young and now am homeschooling again the 3 bonus children God has entrusted with us. I have always loved crafting!! I have done many types of crafting like you painting, baking, cake decorating, scrapbooking, card making, embroidery and sewing. Due to time and my body getting osteoarthritis I only try to squeeze in baking, some cake decorating, sewing, card making and scrapbooking. I’m looking forward to following you on your journey!
